How To Sign Up For Voice-Mail and Authorization Code

 

To receive your authorization code and voice mailbox number, when you reside off campus, you must dial from phones designated as “COMMUTER REGISTRATION ONLY”.   Please have a pencil and piece of paper ready; you will also need your generated ID number, your permanent 5 digit home zip code, and the month and day of your birth.

 

1.      Dial 5500 

2.      Listen to the response from the voice mail

3.      Please enter your generated ID number

4.      Listen to the response from the voicemail system

5.      Please enter your permanent 5 digit home zip code

6.      Listen to the response from the voicemail system

7.      Please enter the month of your birth (using 1 for Jan, 2 for Feb, etc.)

8.      Listen to the response from the voicemail system

9.      Please enter the day of your birth (using 1 or 2 digits ex: 1,2,23)

10. Listen to the response from the voicemail system.  Please be ready to write down the information given to you.

 

Press 1 if you are ready to receive your telephone authorization code and voicemail box number

 

If the system cannot generate an authorization code or voicemail box number, it will generate an error code.  Write the error code down and stop at the Telecommunications Office, Knapp 106, or call 5515 and ask for assistance between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm

 

 

How To Activate Your Authorization Code and Voicemail-Box

 

1.      Press the star key (*)  and then the five (5) key

2.      Press the pound key (#)

3.      Enter your voicemail box number

4.      Enter the generic security code by pressing the four (4) key seven (7) times (Ex:4444444)

5.      Now enter any new seven (7) digit security code (something you will remember)

6.      Press the pound key (#)

7.      You must confirm this number by repeating step 5 and 6 this will activate your PRIVATE access to your voice-mailbox.

8.      Once you are into the voicemail system you may also place a greeting on your voice-mailbox by pressing the four (4) key then the six (6) key and start recording your greeting.  When you are finished recording your greeting press the pound (#) key
