Q: What do all these Codes/Numbers do?

A: You get two codes from the automated setup system. The first number is an “Auth Code” which allows you to dial off-campus. Do not loose your Auth Code, if someone else gets you Auth Code you will be held responsible for the calls made with your Auth Code. The Telecommunications Office recommends that you memorize your Auth Code and destroy any papers you wrote the number on. The Second number is your Voice Mail Box (VMB) Number. This is where message will be left for you by anyone that calls your dorm room and/or global informational messages. When you setup your VMB you will be asked to “Input a new Security code”, this security code is only for you VMB and is used to insure that you and you alone have access to the messages left for you.
