It is most important to bring any correspondence and information sent to you by the college! These documents can make your opening days much easier! |

Here is a list of items that might make your room a more comfortable place for you and your roommate!

An alarm clock
· Warm clothes
· A swimsuit -- SUNY Cobleskill has a great indoor pool!
· A pillow and blankets
· Sheets for a twin size bed (extra long if possible)
· Extra towels
· Soap (bath and laundry)
· Toiletries
· Clothes hangers
· A laundry bag
· A desk lamp and/or a floor or table lamp for use when studying (No Halogens)
· A mug, a bowl, silverware (assuming that you will eat occasionally outside of the dining halls)
· Posters, wall and room decorations
· A “bathroom bucket” (to transport your things to the bathroom each morning)
· A can opener
· A throw rug
· A small trash can
· Shower shoes

Leave Home!
These items are not allowed in student rooms:
· Microwave Ovens
· Halogen Lamps
· Refrigerators larger than 1.75 amps
· Pets of any kind (except fish)
· Hot plates, electric frying pans, or other cooking devices
· Electric Blankets
· Telephones and Answering Machines (A telephone and voice mail, among other features, await you here)
· Candles/incense
· Futons or lofts

· A hot pot/coffee maker
· Hot Air Popcorn popper
· Calculator
· Stereo
· Hair dryer
· Iron
· Television (every room is cable wired)
· Computer
· Refrigerator (2’x2’x2’ only--1.75 amps maximum). We permit one refrigerator per room.
· Plastic crates for storage
· Surge Protector/Power strip for electronic equipment
