Accounts and Passwords: Faculty/Staff
|
Network accounts are established for faculty/staff requiring access to network services upon notification from the campus Human Resources Office and will provide a basic network account with the following:
Account Establishment: Once notified by Human Resources of appointment of a new employee, ITS will post a TechSupport case and will activate a basic network account for the term of the employee contract as indicated by the Human Resources Office. ITS will alert the employee's supervisor when the account is established and will forward the account request to the ITS Programming Department to issue an 800 ID number. Any requests for extensions or terminations of accounts are handled through the Human Resources Office who will forward approved requests to ITS for processing.
Banner privileges: Requests for campus employees to have access to Banner are requested by the individual's supervisor. Requests for additional Banner access is granted by the office that owns the data and must be e-mailed to Programming Services so that the access can be granted.
Password Requirements:
Memorize your password -- do not write it down -- do not share it with others -- passwords maintain account security -- remember that you are responsible for your account!
Quotas: In order
to properly maintain these network functions,
quota and management procedures have been put into effect on
e-mail accounts and network file storage.
Users must maintain their accounts
within the established quotas. |
| You are responsible for your network account. All network account holders are required to use the campus network in accordance with the Authorized Use of Campus Computing Resources Policy (Computer Resources Policy). Do not share your account with anyone else. Maintain secure passwords. Apply Windows Critical Updates and virus updates. |
