Dear Consignors,                                                                                 February 15, 2008

 

Thank you very much for your consignment to the 27th Annual Cobleskill Dairy Fashions Sale. This year Dave Rama and The Cattle Exchange will be representing the Dairy Cattle Club as the Sale Manager. Animals may arrive after 12 Noon on Tuesday, April 1st and must be in place by 4 pm on Thursday, April 3rd.  In an effort to ensure healthy, high quality animals to be offered for sale and to instill confidence in buyers, please make note of the following health requirements.

 

ALL ANIMALS MUST:

1.      All animals require individual ID health Certificate within 30 days of sale, signed by a licensed veterinarian. This should be completed between March 10th and March 20th 2008.

2.      All animals must be inoculated for shipping fever.

3.      It is mandatory that all animals be tested negative for BVD. Testing for Johne’s and BLV is optional.  Animals that have been bred, pregnancy confirmation should be included.

4.      It is mandatory that animals be vaccinated and tested for immediate interstate shipping.  Have your animals tested to meet the following in order to be eligible for out-of state shipment:

•     TB tested within 30 days of the sale: all cattle 5 months of age and over.

•     Brucellosis test required within 30 days of the sale for:

      Females vaccinated (14 months of age and over)

      Females unvaccinated (6 months of age and over)

Non-vaccinates and vaccinates over 18 months of age must test negative for   brucellosis in all dilutions down to 1 to 50.

 

Any consignments originating from a state other than New York should refer to the NY State Health Requirements Governing the Admission of Animals into NY found at http://www.aphis.usda.gov/vs/sregs/ny.html or call the Division of Animal Industry, New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets @ (518) 457-3502.

 

Registrations, signed transfer papers, breeding slips, and up to date milk records (consignments or dams) as well as health papers or other information should be sent to the sale with the animal upon arrival. Consignors proceeds are expected to be issued within 21 days of the sale or less, provided all paper work is in order at the time of the sale.  Once again, thank you very much for your consignment.
