The Information Technology Bachelor of Technology programs prepare students for information technology management and communications careers using state-of-the-art smart classrooms, well-equipped computer laboratories and a high-speed 100-megabit academic computing network. Use of laptop computers is an integral part of the Information Technology program.

Organizations have at least one staff person who is responsible for meeting their information systems needs, but that person seldom possesses all of the skills necessary to keep up with the rapid pace of technical and software change. As a result, there is a great demand for, but a limited supply of, IT specialists with various specialized knowledge and skill sets. This has caused Information Technology to be one of the hottest career areas today. Experts see no end to the demand for IT professionals.

In today's Information Age, those who know how to gather and manipulate information, and understand the mechanics of modern communications systems will be in great demand.

One of the most exciting features of the Bachelor of Technology program is the 12-credit internship. With the completion of this internship in a specialized information technology environment, graduates will have experienced the real work world in their fields of expertise. This professional experience greatly enhances their qualifications and will be a definite asset as they seek employment. Students are enthusiastic about:

  • individually selected, high caliber work sites
  • diversified professional educational experience
  • opportunities to learn while you earn
  • chance to bridge the theory-practice gap
  • real world exposure
  • preview of the future
  • beginning of important contacts which last a lifetime
  • highly qualified professional mentors
